Let me guess. You’ve switched curriculum at least twice in the last year. You have a planner that you started strong with in September and abandoned by October. Your mornings feel like controlled chaos, or maybe just straight chaos with no control. And somewhere in the back of your mind you’re wondering if you’re actually cut out for this. Here’s what I need you to hear: You are not the problem. Your curriculum is not the problem. Your children are not the problem.

You have a strategy problem. And strategy problems have strategy solutions.

I’ve been homeschooling for 18 years. I have lived in the chaos. I have been that mom staring at a pile of curriculum wondering why none of it was working.

And out of that chaos I built something, a six-pillar framework that took my homeschool from overwhelmed and scattered to structured, intentional, and thriving. I call it the BADDIE Framework. And today I’m going to show you exactly how it works, and why it’s the only homeschool strategy you’ll ever need.

“Busy and strategic are not the same thing. One keeps you exhausted. The other gets results.”

First, Let’s Talk About Why Your Homeschool Feels Like Chaos

Most homeschool moms are busy. Very few are strategic. And there is a significant difference between the two. Busy looks like waking up every morning and figuring out the day as you go. Strategic looks like a weekly plan that tells your household exactly what’s happening before the week even starts.

Busy looks like reacting to your children all day long. Strategic looks like knowing your children, their learning styles, their rhythms, their strengths, and building your homeschool around that knowledge. Busy looks like buying a new curriculum every few months because something isn’t working. Strategic looks like diagnosing WHY it isn’t working and fixing that one specific thing. Chaos doesn’t come from a lack of effort. It comes from a lack of strategy. And that’s exactly what the BADDIE Framework was built to solve.

What Is the BADDIE Framework?

The BADDIE Framework is a six-pillar homeschool strategy system I developed over 18 years of homeschooling my own children. Each pillar addresses a specific area where homeschool moms lose traction, and gives you a concrete strategy to get it back.

Here’s a breakdown of all six pillars:

Pillar 1: Becoming

Everything starts with identity. Before you can build a strategic homeschool, you have to become the kind of mom who runs one. That means getting clear on who you are as an educator, what you believe about how your children learn, and what kind of homeschool experience you are committed to creating. Most moms skip this pillar entirely and go straight to curriculum. That’s why the curriculum never works, because it was never built on a foundation of intentional identity.

Strategic Action: Write down in one sentence what kind of homeschool mom you are becoming. Not who you are today, who you are becoming. That’s your north star.

Pillar 2: Aligned

Alignment means your curriculum, your schedule, your goals, and your children’s learning styles are all working together, not against each other. When your homeschool is aligned, everything flows. When it’s not, everything fights. If you can’t tell me in one sentence what your homeschool is working toward, you are not aligned. You are just busy. And busy without direction is just exhausting.

Strategic Action: Identify your top three homeschool goals for this year. Now look at your current curriculum and schedule, are they actually designed to get you there? If not, that’s your misalignment.

Pillar 3: Disciplined

Discipline in your homeschool is not about being rigid. It is about being consistent. It is about showing up on the days you don’t feel like it. It is about building systems and routines that hold your household together even when life gets hard. Your children do not need a perfect homeschool. They need a disciplined one. One where they know what to expect, where the structure is reliable, and where Mom keeps her word.

Strategic Action: Identify the ONE routine in your homeschool that, if you protected it every single day, would change everything. Build your discipline around that one thing first.

Pillar 4: Determined

Determination is what keeps you going when the curriculum isn’t working, when your children are resistant, when you’re exhausted, and when the outside world is questioning your decision to homeschool. Determination is the pillar that holds everything else up when things get hard. The moms who succeed in homeschooling long term are not the ones with the best curriculum. They are the ones who decided they were not going to quit, and meant it.

Strategic Action: Write down your WHY. The real one. The one that gets you out of bed on the hard days. Keep it somewhere visible. You will need it.

Pillar 5: Intentional

Intentionality means every decision you make in your homeschool has a purpose behind it. The curriculum you choose. The schedule you build. The legal compliance you maintain. The resources you invest in. Nothing is random. Nothing is reactive. Everything is chosen on purpose. This pillar also covers the legal and compliance side of homeschooling, knowing your state laws, understanding your rights, and making sure your homeschool is protected. Intentional moms don’t guess about compliance. They know.

Strategic Action: Pull up your state’s homeschool laws today. Do you know exactly what is required of you? If not, that’s your first intentional action. Go to the www.HSLDA.org website for your individual state homeschool requirements.

Pillar 6: Everyday

Transformation is not an event. It is a practice. The Everyday pillar is about building a homeschool that works on ordinary days, not just the days when you’re motivated, inspired, and fully caffeinated. It is about daily structure, daily consistency, and daily commitment to the vision you have for your family. The BADDIE Framework is not a one-time reset. It is a daily way of operating your homeschool with strategy, intention, and authority.

Strategic Action: Look at yesterday. Was it a BADDIE day, strategic, intentional, disciplined? Or was it survival mode? The answer tells you exactly where to start.

“Six pillars. One framework. Zero chaos. That’s the BADDIE way.”

Why Most Homeschool Strategies Fail

Most homeschool strategies fail for one of three reasons:

They are built around curriculum instead of the child

They are built for ideal days instead of real days

They have no framework holding them together when things fall apart

The BADDIE Framework solves all three. It starts with identity before curriculum. It builds systems that work on hard days, not just good ones. And it gives you six pillars that hold your entire homeschool together, so when one area gets hard, the others keep you standing.

This is not a program you try for thirty days and abandon. This is a strategic operating system for your homeschool. And once you build it, you do not go back to chaos.

Who This Is For

The BADDIE Framework was built for the homeschool mom who is done with surviving and ready to start. Specifically, it is for you if:

You have tried multiple curricula and nothing seems to stick

Your mornings feel chaotic and reactive instead of structured and planned

You are not sure if you are meeting your state’s legal homeschool requirements

You want to run your homeschool like a CEO runs a business, with systems, strategy, and intention

You are ready to stop guessing and start operating from a proven framework

If any of those hit home, you are exactly where you need to be.
